Valentines' Day Heart Cake


The client wanted a "realistic" looking heart...and that's exactly what I gave her!




The cake was just a simple chocolate cake with Swiss buttercream filling and frosting and a chocolate ganache.  The roses and rose petals are gum paste.  And the heart...is made with sculpted fondant over rice krispies cereal. It is the actual size of a real heart and fairly anatomically correct... the fact that I used to work in the cardiology interventional suite probably helped me a little with getting the coronary details correct!!
