One of the details... "man down" under the ambulance".
I created templates of each side of the truck....

Foam core base for cake...
Cake board also out of 1/2 inch foam core. I added a strip down the middle for the cake to sit on to give the appearance of raised wheels.
Cake sitting on the board...
..and with gumpaste topper added...
And here's an image of the truck after it had been "totalled"!!!! with the birthday boy :-)
